Pre-Conference

  • Continuing Education

    Attend Applied Net 2019 and earn your continuing education (CE) credits to ensure you meet the licensing requirements of your state while also gaining additional education on niche topics. Earn up to 7 hours of CE credits for anyone holding the CISR or CSRM designation. 

    2019 CE sessions include:

    • Cyber Liability (2 CE hours): Gain an understanding of the need for Cyber Liability coverage and the issues of this market segment. Examine third-party and first-party exposures and how best to provide coverage.
    • A Problems and Solutions Approach to Homeowners Insurance (2 CE hours): Using a question and answer approach, you will identify exposures faced by Homeowners and learn how the ISO Homeowners Form would respond. Each exposure area will be presented using the situational analysis method. You will then go through a problem identification process that will lead to a solution and preferred outcome to the exposure. The exposure areas include, but are not limited to, business operations, contractual liability, and watercraft coverage.
    • Time Element (3 CE hours): Identify the significant Business Income exposure many businesses face and learn several methods of providing the appropriate insurance protection. This includes a coinsurance approach, as well as the use of Optional Coverages which eliminates or suspends the coinsurance conditions contained in the coverage forms.

    Sessions will be held on Monday, October 14 at the following times:

    • Cyber Liability: 8:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m.
    • A Problems and Solutions Approach to Homeowners Insurance: 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

    This program led by Claudia St. John, SPHR, SHRM-SCP of Affinity HR Group explores the common breakdowns that happen between coworkers and colleagues, and particularly those between sales and customer service or operations teams. It explores why these familiar breakdowns occur and how to resolve them.

    Attendees will learn: 

    • How to identify and diagnose breakdowns in teams
    • How behavioral style contributes to those breakdowns
    • How to improve collaboration through enhancing trust, making and managing promises, and holding critical conversations
